From Top to Bottom

Simon and Brad’s contemporary garden needed a complete overhaul that called on my entire team and more.

The Brief

Simon and Brad had a very clear idea of what they wanted to achieve. Therefore they didn’t need much design input from me, just a planting plan and rallying the troops to get it built.

Gardens on steep slopes with established tree planting can often feel quite suffocating, so I was very mindful to keep each terrace light, open and inviting.

The Result

The garden was rebuilt literally from the bottom up. To allow more light in without sacrificing privacy, we started by removing all shrubbery, cutting back the trees and reducing the hedge height.

We repointed and rendered the existing retaining walls, replaced the entire decking framework, along with the outdoor electrics, and steels and glass on the first floor balcony.

Millboards and astroturf were installed, and we installed a new planting scheme that better suited the conditions.

A new lighting scheme opened up the garden’s accessibility for evening entertaining.

“Superbly finished with landscaping and lighting design that makes a perfect garden day or night.

“Our perfect tranquil garden.”
