Heidi has an unstoppable passion for all things horticultural. When she is not reshaping gardens, organizing her team or pondering over a drawing board, she can be found rummaging through her ever increasing library of horticultural books and magazines, exploring historical and contemporary gardens in England or venturing to new climbs exploring their flora and fauna. Heidi’s antics don’t stop there; she also works closely with community projects such as Old Market community garden, Brighton Bandstand, Wood Recycling Project and Tiger Enterprises Build Recycling Project. She also regularly attends talks by ecologists and horticulturists in London and Brighton, just recently eco house builder Ben Law and garden designer Andy Sturgeon.
Heidi’s passion for design and build is closely interlinked with an awareness of sustainability and ecology. Heidi firmly believes that the time is now to start taking responsibility for our actions and carbon footprints. Heidi was the first gardener to grow vegetables on a cinema balcony. She’s passionate about the replanting of fruit trees; wildlife hedging and taking things back to grass roots. Where possible she uses local suppliers and recycled building products and refrains from using chemicals.
Coming from a long line of gardeners and designers, gardening was predominant in her upbringing as well as her spirit. Heidi returned to formal education in February 2006, after 10 years in teaching, to study horticulture whilst setting up her business. She spent two years absorbing as much information as possible on plants, botany, garden maintenance, building and design.
Heidi and her team have worked on some very exciting projects.
